Kids Day America 2007 was a great success! This was our third year and our goal was to bring the adventure of reading into the home while teaching the community about wellness and safety. We raised over $1500 that went to purchase reading books to give to Shenandoah County’s first graders.
We started the celebration at noon with the arrival of the Mt Jackson Fire Department and the Shenandoah County Sheriffs Department. Also on hand were Spiderman, Batman, and McGruff the Crime Dog. Dr Kim Harman provided spinal screenings, Dr Dan Zale provided dental screenings, and fingerprinting was offered by the local law enforcement.
There were animals to adopt (every animal that was there went home to a loving family!!), face painting, silly tattoos, give-a-ways, and lots of fun!
We’d like to thank all of our sponsors and volunteers. Without you the show would not and could not go on- Thanks!!
